How to convert Patreon free members to paid members

Hey GameDevs,

Patreon released a new tool to help you convert free members (followers) to paid members (patrons) and I decided to write a guide on how you can use it in 3 steps:

  • Step 1) Include free members in your posts
  • Step 2) Nourish the relationship with weekly free content (status updates, screenshots, sex videos...)
  • Step 3) Offer a paid version of your latest and juiciest game update for a good price.

Step 1) How to include Free members in your posts

With this recent update, you can now target free members in 3 ways:

  • Public: (Safe for Work Only) content for Free members, Paid members, Non-members and signed-out users.
  • All members: Any content for Free and Paid Members. Also, motivated non-members to enter your free members list (so you can keep nourishing them with free weekly content)
  • Free members only: This is only relevant if you don't want to bother your Paid members

I recommend a mix of "Public" and "All members" posts. This way, players get to see some content before becoming Free members.

  • If all posts are "Public", there is no motivation to become a Free Member (follower)
  • If all posts are "All members", players don't get to glimpse at your content before deciding to follow you.

Step 2) Nourish the relationship with weekly free content

Free Members will be more receptive and excited about your game if you offer them value every week.

These contents can get people excited:

  • The best renders created last week
  • The best sex videos created recently
  • Tell them news about how the development of the game went last week. Any milestones hit? Number of renders? Hardware or Software upgrades?

Here you can see an example of a post to nourish the relationship with Free and Paid Members:

We did several of these before going to step 3.

Step 3) Offer a paid version of your latest and juiciest game update for a good price.

A good price is somewhere between 2 USD and 15 USD. If you charge higher, players might say it's too expensive.

Numerous game developers fear asking for money in exchange for their hard work. But if you never ask, they will never pay you and expect you to work for free forever.

If you truly believe in the quality of your work, and want to grow in your craft (become full-time, hire a team), you have to offer a paid version of your game.

You're going to need:

  • A Paid post with the downloads links available only to the specific Patreon Tiers (or the link to your game page on OppaiMan.com)
  • A Free post to motivate and excite players about your game.

Make a Free post including:

  • A sexy image as the cover (include the logo of your game)
  • A link to the Paid post with the Links (e.g. "Download links: Click Here"; or "See Store Page and trailer")
  • A sexy gif
  • Description of the content offered, intertwined with images and gifs
  • Repeat the link to the Paid Post at the end
  • Repeat the link on the images and gifs
